2.4 Mfi ??

With a 2.4mfi engine, what is required to make this engine able to run 'outside' a 911. Basically, I am looking to put this motor with a 901 trans in my VW Ghia. I need to know if there are any electronic or other items I will need that wouldn't be on the motor that the MFI would require to operate.
Thanks!!

Just the appropriate fuel pump to supply the injection pump and the fuel filter can, space for an oil tank, and maybe an electrical panel. Oh, and you'll need to come up with some reasonable rear motor mounts. Some others may chime in, this is just the immediate issues I see. It could be done, and fairly easily by some one who is mechanically inclined, If thats not you, it ain't a great idea. You'd also have to determine what flywheel/clutch parts you'd need.

Would be a fun Ghia though

consider replacing the rear torsion bar housing with a 911 unit. then everything, suspension, trans, axles, and engine, bolt right up. a rear mount for the engine is needed of course. an oil tank should fit in the right rear fender area.

the MFI engines are very self contained but I think the other thing would be the CDI box for ignition but that should be very simple to mount (4 wires and can be mounted just about anywhere)
