Transmission Rebuilding

Wayne:
When are you going to put out a book on rebuilding transmissions. Namely, the 915.

Why wait?

The 901 and the 915 are close enough that this will help guide you.

I would get a copy of the exploded view diagrams specific for the 915.

The 915 isn't that hard dude, as long as your not hard set on trying to not buy new tools that is.

Yep, it's actually pretty quick. I rebuilt a 901 yesterday for one of my buddies, while he stripped my 2.2 down to a long block.

Nice article, James!
Reading it, gives me a lot more confidence that rebuilding a transmission could be my next project.

This past weekend comment:

"Holy S#it!"

"I don't like hearing 'HS' when you're talking about my tranny"

"Look at this pinion shaft bolt/speedo worm"

Someone used an air chisel on the nut. However. The tool marks (gouges) show it was used in the installation direction.

Fortunately, I have a few extras laying around....
