Ready to start my 2.7 assembly

After months of preping, I'm finally ready to start the assembly process.

I had the heads redone at a local shop (Colorado Automotive Machine) and sent the case, rods, oil cooler, pistons, and cylinder out to EBS Racing for a full working. The rockers and cams were in fairly good shape so I'm reusing them as is. Ordered tons of nuts, gaskets, and other parts through Pelican over the past several months. My costs so far in parts and machine work is about $3500 so far.

I stripped every piece of sheetmetal down to bare and resprayed it. Rebuilt a dozen things like wire harnesses, CIS, and heating systems... It's literally been since June when I tore the engine down. In that time I think I've read Waynes book about 5 times...

The build will be pure stock 74 2.7 regular CIS.

Kind of a strange feeling, excitement and nervousness, or maybe just too many fumes from the brake cleaner and cleaning alcohol....

Anyway, I'll keep you all posted with pics on the progress. (That way you can jump in and tell me when I missed a part

Sounds like you're a couple months ahead of me. I'm rebuilding a 73T into E specs. Keep us updated on how it goes.

PS. I haven't done any rebuilds yet but when you go to assemble the case make sure you clean the bores of the perimeter bolts, otherwise you'll get junk on the seal of the case halfs.

Thanks for the offer Wayne, but since this is mainly a street car I want to stick with the lower peak of regular cams for now. Plus if I got new Cams, I'd need new rocker arms, if I had new rockers, I should use new shafts.... Ahhh, the madness never ends
