rocker arm refresh?

I'm upgrading my T engine to E specs. I've located a set of good used E cams (no pitting) but the rockers were broken on it so I can't get the rocker arms that should go with this cam. I have a set of good rockers off my T cams but I think they'll need machining at the least. I looked at webcams website and they want $65.00 per arm to hardweld them and pelican has new arms for $31.00 per arm. What is the recommended procedure to make these rockers and camshafts ready for another 100K miles?

Tim, Another option is to send the rockers to CE for rebushing and refacing. Cheaper than buying new rockers. With the fresh rockers, just make sure you run the 20min @ 2K break-in to mate them with the cams.

AHH ok I'll definitly have to do that. I'm pretty sure my machinist can do that since he's a local porsche only raceshop and even if he can't I'm sure that rebushing the rockers is cheaper than new ones ($400 for the set) Edit: If I was smart I would have looked in my rebuild book... $20 per arm at CE makes it about $250. Much better than $400 for arms + extra for the shafts

New rockers and cam lobes need adequate lube for breakin. There are special lubes for this purpose. Sherwood Lee http://members.rennlist.org/911pcars

Moly (extreme pressure lube) is good for this. You can also add GM's EOS (Engine Oil Supplement) to the oil supply. Others may want to chime in with their preferences. Sherwood

Walt did a fantastic job, for a very reasonable charge.
