What are cylinders worth as core

I have a set of 3.2 cylinders and want to know what they are worth as a core for re-boring and replating as a larger size such as a 98mm.

While both are 95mm, I thought the 3.0 cylinders had a groove for a sealing ring, and the 3.2 didn't.

As I understand it, the 3.2 cylinders can be bored out to 98mm, but the 3.0 jugs can't.

Is this right Wayne?

They are the same cylinders, basically. Right - I think that there may be a slightly different mounting ring on the top (no gasket), but I can't recall, and I don't have any sets here. Either way, they are still interchangeable.

Functionally, there isn't any difference between the cylinders, so there is no logical reason why you would be able to bore one and not the other. The difference between the 3.0 and 3.2 long block lies in the stroke length - no piston / cylinder enlargement...

EBS won't use the 3.0 cylinders as cores for making 98mm cylinders because of the head gasket groove.

EBS's core charge for cylinders is $300, or at least it is for 90mm cylinders.
