Euro P&C's?
What is the difference between 2.7 p&c and "Euro" 2.7 p&c?
Thanks |
I think I looked this up recently. There is no Euro P&C for the 2.7. There's the 911S and 911 pistons which have different compression ratios. The USA vs. Euro argument comes out when you're talking about 3.0 and 3.2 engines...
-Wayne P.S. Unless, you're talking about the Euro Carrera MFI, which are MFI-based pistons, and won't work with CIS. What's the real question here? |
I'm taking delivery of a ROW (Japan) 74 2.7 CIS engine with 68,000 kilometers which I plan to rebuild as per your book. I'm lining up S cams and I have a set of webers to use, so I guess the question is; given the low kilometers, the pistons and cylinders should be well in spec, however I was looking to up compression and don't know where to go from here... are the CIS cylinders appropriate for hot-rodding my engine?

Are the Euro 9.8:1 3.0 pistons listed on the Pelican Parts website compatible with CIS or Webers or both?
This would be part # 99-0174-916. Thanks. |
The 3.0 Pistons would be compatible with CIS and Webers. Although, to get max performance out of the Webers, you would want to upgrade to a more agressive cam, which wouldn't be compatible with these pistons.
The CIS 'S' cams would go well with the 911S 2.7 pistons. I have a set of newly reconditioned 911S 1974 cams for sale if you're interested. $495 incl shipping... -Wayne |
i think you mean the MFI version of the 2.7 piston, which has a flatter crown, valve reliefs and the same 8.5 compression. generally used with performance cams and carbs.
