3.0 Biral cylinders ???

While I was buying carb parts today to re-jet the for the new 2.7....

They guy asked about my application. I told him and he said that they were making 3.0 biral cylinders out of old 2.7 cylinders. I guess they bore them out and put in a liner.

Anyone heard of anything like this? Any thoughts on the workability of 3.0 Biral cylinders on a mag case?

James

I hear they bore the spigots so big it exposes the case savers. The 2.7 case is weak enough to start with. Do you really want to send your case to MM for machine work? I'm sure they are fine for a set of weber jets though.

Geez, I didn't even have to tell ya who I talked too...

I wasn't planning to do anything, just was asking if anyone had heard of it.

Hi Wayne

did Porsche make a Aluminum case with 83mm stud spacing.?
was the 3.0 RSR (911/74) case Aluminum or magnesium
