3.8???

Can 3.8 (993RSR) p's and c's be mounted on a 76-77 930 case? Would they work with an SC crank? Recommendations on the crank? Would it use 993RSR twin-plug heads? Finally, could one build this engine to run on carbs? Crankfire?

I'm trying to think up some absolute rocket-ship motor while still keeping some early car things intact (no computer ignition, etc.)

BUT...

How hard is it to build a VarioRam 3.6 ('96 993) to a 3.8RSR motor? Any change in intake?

Thanks!

I'm 99% sure that this won't work - the 3.6 cases are very different than the early Euro Carrera / Turbo / SC cases. I'm sure you can have custom ones made, but that would be big bucks...

You can get 100mm cylinders for use with these cases...

No, they can't even be used on a 964.

No, among other differences the rods are not the same width.

Not hard just expensive, you will need MOTEC or equivalent for fuel/ignition control(yes, the intake goes), TWM or equivalent for intakes, Pauter or Carillo rods, the p/c, cams, valves, valve springs, port work, headers, and a thousand other little bits and pieces that add up to ~$30k

Oh I forgot to mention that it won't be streetable.:(

Why not do a 993RS or hot 993RS.
