Another engine gasket kit question...

I'm only doing a top end job on my car but the engine wizard page only have a complete gasket kit that will cost $292 for my turbo. Where could I find a top end only kit?

And also when I'm looking at buying the individual items that I can identify, the total works out to only ~$125. Am I missing something major here? (ok - I didn't include any exhaust port gaskets as I already have those).

thanks...

I found the top end gasket sets here but it looks like its the same price as the complete kit (rebuild wizard). Id call and make sure this is correct.

http://www.pelicanparts.com/catalog/shopcart/911M/POR_911M_enginB_pg1.htm

Cylinder Head Gasket Set, 911 Turbo 3.3L (1978-1989)
H-100-908-02 $291.25

I tried to add the whole kit from the Rebuild Wizard to my basket and it came up with this part# H-100-908-02-KT but no price 0.00?

I hate computers - I'll have to check that out.

The kits are priced as a kit from our supplier, and come packaged as such. I have not broken down what the costs of the individual parts are - it may be that they are cheaper in pieces, in which I would recommend going that route. But packaged in a set with the Porsche part number on the front, they are a certain price from my supplier. This sometimes happens with clutch kits too, where the kit price is more than the components (from my suppliers). Makes it difficult to run the business sometimes.

I'll have to fix that wizard problem again when I get home...

Wayne,

I've run into other items that dont have dollar amounts when added to the cart. Should we report these to you or someone else when we see them or is that normal?

Here is one that is the gasket for the bottom of a 915 tranny. Part #OEM-91530322500
In the catalog it lists as 1.00 (special order) but when added to the cart (actually to my project list) it has the price of $0.00

Hmm, you've found a limitation of the Project List. The Project list only lets you add and manage parts that are currently located in our database - the OEM part you are referring to is a special-order Porsche part and is not part of our regular catalog. There should be an error message when you add it - but I haven't modified the Project List since we added the OEM special order capability.

All of the technology eventually catches up to you big time.

Any parts without the OEM labels not showing up?

Wayne,

On a similar note, I was looking at the metric dial gauge - it shows NLA in the tools page but if I use the engine rebuild wizard, it shows a price & says that its available.

Just ordered one from John as well
