Pelican's JE 3.2 euro P/C???
Hey guys, are the Euro 10.3:1 3.2 P/C for sale here at Pelican ok to use on a '84 USA 3.2 w. stock heads?
Engine is used 90% track and is single plugged. I currently run a 91/100 octane mix of approx 94.4 final octane rating. Of course this can be modified as nessesary for the higher compression. top end is completely apart right now, installing ARP rod bolts & headstuds(all) and heads are at Ollies getting a full valve job & 9k valve springs. (Trans is also out getting short 3rd,4th & 5th) How do I know if the original P/C are still worth using? Nothing broke on the engine to warrant the teardown.... but I just felt it wasn't making all the power it should....and it wasn't: low comp on two cyl, worn cam lobes and rockers. Oil pressure has always been excellent & oil temp is max 200 deg f. at track events on hot summer days. Now is the time to make a decision on this...the wife won't like it but there's not alot she can say right now since I just bought her, her own 911 that she has been drooling over...('72 911t w. only 22.8k mi) Any input is more than appreciated guys !!!! You too Wayne!!

If you're commited to running that higher octane gas, then you should be able to get away with 10.3. The safest way would be to go twin plug, with a 964 distributor and one of those Andial splitters for the 3.2. When you add up the costs, I think you will see it's not too much to go twin on a 3.2.

Hell yeah...we run those engines all the time overhere :-)
I had a friend who accidentaly filled his Carrera with 95 octane insted of 98 (RON)...no probs. I don't believe your fuel is so much worse than ours...just cheaper. I mean, all that oil-wars and you cannot even get decent octane? ![]() Joke aside, if you can purchase fuel that has coresponding octane value to our 98 RON then you should be perfectly OK. I think you measure it in MON, so check it out first. There is certain margin there as well and as far as i know, PAG has always quoted higher C/R than it actually used.
