The last "refreshing" I did on my 2.2 was in 1999

I did the following to provide a "bullet proof bottom end"

*Oil bypass mods
*Installed piston squirters
*modified crank and center main bearing
*install 930 oil pump

Im just about to fire this same engine up in its latest iteration, twin plugged,with TWM TB's, crank fired w/ engine management

Since you have the case split, definaletly go for the oil bypass mod... get an updated oil pump ( carrera pumps can be had inexpensively), install the squirters...

the crank bearing mod is purely discretionary... if its a street car probably no need...on a track car its "insurance"

Also weld a baffle in your oil tank.... there was a recent thread about this mod also
