Highest save RPM's ???

What is the highest save RPM for a good standart 1972 2.7RS engine?? Still using points and MFI.

After new rings, bearings, heads done and 2000 miles my engine easy goes to 6000 RPM but then I chicken out.
Thanks, Harold

I stop mine at 7300 RPM, but that's just me. It really depends on how long you want it to last, and how much margin you've built into it. Stock 2.7 RS redline was 7300 I believe. I would probably take it to 8K if I didn't have a rev limiter, it sounds so good at the redline.

Good luck,

JP
