I picked my transmission up today, from performance imports, in Atlanta. While I was there, I mentioned to one of the owners that I can't seem to find Loctite case sealant. So he handed me a bottle of Wurth flange sealant (green in color) and told me that they use orange Loctite on Transmissions and Wurth on engine cases.
It was free, and I couldn't turn my nose up at a gift like that, but has anyone ever heard of using this instead of loctite?

Wurth makes an orange flange sealant that seems to be Loctite 574 (orange) in a Wurth bottle. When I asked around I found it was used in place of 574. (See Orange sealant: Wurth=Loctite? )
I wonder if this green Wurth flange sealant is Curil T in a Wurth bottle? Are you sure he didn't say they use Orange on engine cases and Green on transmissions? -Chris

Thanks for responding Chris...
No, he said use the orange on the tranny and the green on the engine. In fact, I noticed how nicely the orange loctite (or perhaps it was wurth orange flange sealant) had beaded on the seams of the transmission. I think I'll just keep waiting for some loctite... Dan Crockett

I've just finished using the Wurth orange on my engine (also a freebee) it is apparently exactly the same stuff as the loctite. Sorry, but can't help with the green product though.
