Does rebuild require new distributor?

I'm planning on converting my 71 2.2T engine to to a 2.4E+ as recomended in Wayne's book for favorite upgrade from 2.2 to 2.4.

I read somewhere that I will have to "recurve" my distributor, or replace with one from an E.

I need guidance. Thanks

If you have the Bosch (rather than Marelli) distributor, then it is simple and cheaper to have it "graphed" or "re-curved" to suit the qualities of the new engine rather than buying a new one. Another advantage is they take into account modern fuel (as opposed to the 70's) and the different octanes and set the distributor up accordingly.

As I'm in Australia, I'll let someone else chime in on a recommended place for you over there.
