Ebay cylinders and pistons

These are advertized on Ebay as cylinders/pistons from a 2.7L 911. To me appear to be 3.0L SC cylinders because of the shrouded stud holes and the squared cylinder fins. Would like another trained eye opinion on these cylinders.

Thanks!

It's hard to tell from the photos shown. But the squared off fins and casting reminant between each of the fins I think are a dead giveaway that it isn't a 2.7 cylinder. The sealing groove also leads me to believe that it is an alusil 3.0 cylinder, not a nikasil 3.2 cylinder, which also I think can be seen in one of the pictures by looking at the bore wall. Here's a picture of an alusil, which I think the ebay one is as well.

If you look close, you can see that the stud holes are shrouded, I never see 2.7L cylinders with this type of enclosed stud holes. I would just hate for someone to bid and get something other than 2.7L cylinders (if that is the case of course).

Wayne,

your book is about warn out from my referencing, I'll have to get a new one, one of these days!

They look like 3.0 Alusils to me. Send him an email and ask him to measure the bore.

they look like the 2.7 (later style) cylinders to me.

No pictures of the pistons. His description doesn't make a whole lot of sense. It was running, but there was a crack in the block??
