Where can I get the two cover plate gaskets and bottom o-ring seal for my MFI pump ('73 911S)? It appears to be leaking oil. Should I just try the "sources" on the MFI page, like Pacific Injection, or is there an easy on-line place to order them? Also, should I replace the MFI pump drive belt, just as a matter of course, even though it looks OK? And where is a good source for a replacement?
Thanks, Brian SF Bay, CA

You can buy gasket material at Kragen or most autoparts stores. It comes in sheets. Just mark it and cut with a razor knife. You may be able to match up o-rings as well.

Hi Brian,
if needed, then you should get all the sealings still from a Bosch certified workshop. In my experience the 2 pump sealing you describe are almost never leaking. What you see is almost always oil that comes from the crank ventilation and air filter crank vent outlet. The oiler that area is the more blowby is found in your engine - > usually piston rings worn. Good luck Andreas |
