New Rebuild Oil Temps

Just completed my 2.2 rebuild and have about 60 miles on it. Proud to say, doesn't leak a drop. Runs strong except the zeniths need a tuninig. I've noticed the oil temps run to 100 C (212 F) where as before the old engine pretty much stayed at 80 C (176 F) except where temps here in houston get into the high 90s, low 100. I'm attributing that to a new tighter engine. Any one else experience the same??

We sometimes see a slight increase in temp after rebuilds but nothing like what you're talking about. Generally the engine temp is very close to what it was prior to the overhaul if not lower. I would suspect you have a problem. Perhaps ignition timing?

Did you do any performance modifications? If you're making more horse power you're also making more heat.
