911 mechanics in Memphis?
Howdy all. I'm checking around to see who's good to take an older 911 to in the Memphis area (1972 911T) for engine work as needed. I know about Motorwerks. Any other recommendations?
I've ordered Wayne's book, but lacking the tools and a workspace, it's going to be a while before I'm up to DIY stage, being a new owner this week. Thanks |

I'd be happy to locate mechs you guys thought highly of in Nashville or Little Rock, as well. Rebuild prices from our local shop seem rather higher than the norm I see expressed on this list.

Motorwerks came highly recomended when I was shoping for head work but they seem really pricy.

I'm in Jackson Ms, not too far from you. I've used Memphis Motorwerks with great satisfaction. If you want the job done well, and the job explained to you well, look no further.
I've sent parts to all corners of the US to be re-conditioned and the Memphis Motor Werks boys are in a group of only 3 shops I've learned to trust. |

Williams Racing
I'm happy to report that the referral to Pat WIlliams in Memphis (6364 Summer Ave., 901-373-1337) worked very well for my repair needs. Pat does good work, he's anxious to help, has reasonable pricing, and he has plenty of racing expertise if you want to hoon. I'm tickled that a shop that specilizes in building racing turbos is willing to look after my modest little 2.4 '72 911T.
