I seated mine up against the case as far as it would go with a lot of curil-T. But because there was a moment in time where my crankcase was not vented properly I have wondered if it was pushed out slightly or damaged.
That area is also a bit tricky with the case sealant. I was worried that I would get some of the case sealant on the front bearings so I may have missed a spot. It may not be the seal at all.

I forgot to mention that I would like to help you work through the cam sensor issue if you want. If you can get your hands on any low frequency oscilloscope that will help.

Thanks Norm, I will be double checking the injector wiring and cam sensor wiring when I get the engine out.
