front pulley bolt, how tight is that damn thing?
I tried to pull off my pulley tonight. Started with a ratchet, progressed to a 1/2" breaker bar until I thought I was going to break my engine stand, then a 1/2" impact gun, thing didn't budge. it isn't left hand threaded, is it?
my impact gun is old and weak but it should still hit at least 200 ft lbs. |

Mine was very tight and we had a heck of a time breaking it loose on my 930.
Not sure what it was torqued to before, but it was ungodly tight when we tried to break it loose. Brian

I live in Orange also and you are more than welcome to try my Snap-On impact wrench. I have had good luck with it. Pete

You likely have a "Durlok" pulley screw: 125 ft-lbs installation torque, even more to loosen. See:

Oh well, shame on me. My IR 2131P impact gun broke earlier this year and I've been putting off getting it fixed. My excuse was that I can use my old worn out "made in china" impact gun for most things.
Obviously it doesn't hit hard enough for this job. Looks like I have an excuse to spent the $ on parts to fix the IR gun now. Anyone have a lead on where to get OEM IR pneumatic parts for reasonable costs? I know I'm dreaming but I had to ask. I have a place I deal with at work but they aint cheap. EDIT: i just found a place online that sells a complete repair kit with hammer anvil for $55, I ordered it so everything is good again. That price is alot better than the $125 I was originally quoted to repair the gun ($100 parts, $25 labor). It's supposed to hit with 600# so if it doesn't get the bolt off nothing will.
