GREAT JOB HENRY....
How is the new House??? Are you going to go to willow for our last race??? Hope all is well. Talk to you soon.

Henry Schmidt 11-10-2004 11:05 AM

Hi Mark
The new house is working out well. Now I just have to move the shop. What a pain.

L8Apexr 11-14-2004 09:58 PM

I tried MM for a 915 tranny rebuild because they were somewhat local, good turnaround time, and had a great exchange price. To make a long story painful, they didn't deliver on anything except being local! Roy is a scheister. I had to have Sergio at Gameface Motorsports sort my tranny out less than 100 miles after the "rebuild" at MM. They even sold me a used throwout bearing as new. I wouldn't let these jokers change the brakes on my 10 speed bike. Just typing these words makes the bile in my stomach bubble.

Don't worry someday they'll screw the wrong person and....

Didn't I read on this post or (one of the other ones) that a guy in Texas got f----d by them on a engine build and he took the red-eye to LA, then a cab over to MM to Punch Roy out??

I wish I found this forum before I sent my carbs to MM. He"s charged my credit card and I don't have my carbs, dist, or manifolds back after a month. Now I'm scared.

they probably needed them for an engine.

buster8234 - Call your credit card company NOW and dispute the charges before it is too late! You probably have 60 or 90 days to begin the dispute.

What did he say when you talked to him on the phone? How long was it suppose to take? Tell them you are thinking about disputing the charges if it should have taken longer. Don't talk to a flunky in the office, talk to one of the owners.

john walker's workshop 01-17-2005 08:05 AM

same thing.

buster8234 01-17-2005 09:26 AM

I told Roy about disputing the credit card on Friday, they called today with a UPS pro number. He told me not to open the carbs up because they had been run on an engine and adjusted. I am having the guys that are building my 2.4 open them when I receive them and check that the correct parts are installed. Maybe it won't hurt too bad.

sammyg2 01-17-2005 02:15 PM

So..... how much do used core carbs cost nowadays?

That just aint right. I swear one of these days I'm gonna etch all my parts and send them there just to see what I get back.

Only the ones in the magazines for everyone that promotes them as a "good" company.

If I was really wealthy (the point that you can afford to buy your own island because you have to much damn money) and purchase the oposite page of every magazine that MM advertizes in and post a link to these pages warning everyone who they really are.

About ten maybe 15 years ago a customer brought their 911 into the dealer I was wrenching at with an oil burner... a bad one, at idle even...

The level was okay, you would be surprised how many are found overfilled even to this day... The custome stated a rebuilt motor from threse MM guys had just been installed.

The rings never made it, the leak down was "up there". The thing I remember most about this particular engine was a black painted case and orange high temp silicone oozing out from all the base gaskets.

I have not been around Porsche circles for about seven years now until just recently. I am amazed to learn that these hacks are still around.

This is an incredible site, its nice to be back. A 911 project in the garage is exciting again.

Let me begin by saying that I also got snowed by Motor Meister. I wish I would of registered a long time ago. But anyhow, I'm not going to stand buy quitely. I would like anyone out there to send me your information about the unethical business practices you may have experienced with Roy. I need a good solid foundation to begin this journey..........

emarc:
send me a pm and let me know your plans. I have gone pretty far with these guys and have much documented.

A summary of my story can be found here:

Nothing bad to say about Henry. Always replies to my questions and has sold me some parts in the past and probably will again in the future.

I always wondered why MM has "Export Specials" listed in their ads? I guess they can really stick it to the overseas crowd. These folks should read these warnings.

asphaltgambler 01-26-2005 04:32 AM

One thing here for sure.............MM has the slickest, most compelling website out of most any P-car 'repair garage' I've ever visited
