Tear down observations 1
Hi guys, finally got my my motor fully taken apart. I will be working with a local machine shop/engine builder but I thought I thought I'd pass these pictures by for your feedback. I will break this up into several posts. The motor is a 73 2.4T which I don't believe has ever been apart. The mileage is 82k which I believe to be original.
![]() lots of carbon in the combustion chambers ![]() Cylinders show very little wear with a clear crosshatch still visible. Looks like I've reached the size limit. More to follow on "tear down observations 2. Joe |

You may be able to bore these .25mm over and put new pistons in if they are out of the limit now. Need to see if you can find the oversize pistons first.

Don't forget 85mm JE's at whatever compression you want.
