Engine Finished

Finally finished my engine & it's in the car & running. Only oil leaks were from behind the turbo oil scavanger pump (cam shaft seal wasn't seated properly) and from around the oil pressure switch where the oil line for the turbo oil feed comes from. Both easy to fix. I just have to tweak the fuel and ignition maps to get it to idle and run properly so that I can run it in. It was running fine before the rebuild, but I've added GHL headers, 964 cams, Kokeln intercooler and K27 turbo, so now it won't idle.

Nice. Did you modify the stock blocks for the new injectors?

I'am using an EFI kit supplied by PEM here in Australia. They modified the standard blocks to accept the injectors. The system uses a EMS Stinger ECU available here in Australia for $995 (Aussie dollars). The software allows you to create a log while you drive the car, so that I can see what O2 reading I'am running and make adjustments after each short drive. Beats trying to drive and see what the readings are at the same time.

Cheers

Congradulations.

I have similar plans for my own 930 with the exception of a larger intercooler and megasquirt ECU.

Yep, and GHL headers as well.

The thing that pissed me off were the pipes that connect to the front of the heater boxes. The right one fit perfectly, but the left one came up right where the left axle is. These are supposed to be for a 930.

Just attach the heat exchangers using flexible hose. I didn't use their pipes at all.

Can you tell me how to reach PEM?
Their web site does not seem to work.
An address or phone nr would help.
Thanks.

I know that PEM are relocating to Queensland (Australia) from Sydney at the moment. I can give you Andrew Howards mobile number, it's 0411 249 574.

Cheers

Paul,

Who are EMS stinger? I have not heard of them! Let me know if you need an extra pair of hands when you put the engine back in.

Cheers

The EMS Stinger is the CPU that is controlling the fuel and ignition on my engine. Locally made here in Australia by EMS (www.enginemanagementsystem.com). The engine is already in the car. Thanks for the offer though.
