Alu case...what to build?
Ok, so I have a '67 alu case, as confirmed by others here. Actually have the complete engine. I have yet to open it as I have other projects going right now. But I wanted to start planning...I am thinking of a small displacement turbo...but there are just too many options. This will be DIY, with much advice from others. Limited budget, not 500 bucks, but not 10k either. I know I'm looking at about 800-1k for machine work for starters, soooo, what have you built, or had built for you, with an aluminum case. Any dyno numbers/graphs would be great too. Oh yea, I would like to still run on pump gas.

Best engine power for your buck is a 2.7 with higher compression JEs, an 'S' or Mod-S cam, and carburetors. Like an RS-spec engine, but with higher compression. A small displacement Turbo will be difficult to get to run right without a custome engine management system, and will cost you many hours of tuning. The 2.7 is a good way to go, and the engine will be virtually bulletproof, like a 3.0L.

Thats what my other option was since this will go into my '74. What's a set of JE p&c's going for these days? Know any machine shops near Orlando, FL? Obviously MOTEC would be the best mgmt sys, but out of the price range, I have been looking into megasquirt II, and a few other DIY efi systems; any firsthand knowledge with these?
