OUTER intermediate shaft bearing, hole or no hole?

My old outer intermediate shaft bearing has a hole in it's center, the replacement 996-101-137-80 does not. Should one be machined into the new.

Cases varied over the years. The rule of thumb is that if there is a hole in the case where the hole in the bearing should be, then there needs to be a hole in the bearing. Inner and outer intermediate shaft bearings are different too, with respect to needing the holes...

This is the outer bearing.....there is no hole in the case. There is a hole in the intermediate shaft itself, forward of the sprockets.
