Pulley Seal Replacement: Seems straightforward...

I'm replacing my rear main pulley seal.

A few questions:

Curil T? Or some other substance?

Flush? or?

What else do I need to know to keep this from leeking. It seems very straightforward except for all of the posts I have been reading for the last 2 hours on how hard it seems to get a good seal.

Thanks.

Ian

Never had a problem with this sealing, but you may want to lightly ring a slight bit of Curil-T on it. I think what many people have problems with is the o-ring on the bearing itself, not the pulley seal...

I've had bad luck recently using Curil-T on the front and rear main seals. been sort of hit or miss. SInce the stuff doesn't cure it has allowed some seals to push out and leak.

When it works, it works great. WHen it doesn't, PITA. I install them all dry now.
