Flywheel Machining

Can the flywheel be machined and how much?

yes, generally. costs about $35. you need to tell the machinist to be sure it's not warped. he can tell easily once the grinder touches the flywheel. if a warped flywheel is resurfaced, you risk an imbalance problem, because more material will be removed from one side than the other. if you don't tell them, they just grind it, and you sometimes get a vibration that wasn't there before, requiring a re-do of the whole job.

The wear limit is 8.5mm for an SC. Should be an indicator groove cut into it.
