MFI T to E
Is it possible to swap an E spacecam into a T pump so it will work with E cams and pistons? The E spacecam is from a #010 pump ( I think it's for a 2.2) and the T pump is on a 2.4.

Yes, tho I think some more experianced people might be able to tell you how to do it without changing the pump. The other mian diff between T & Es are the port sizes on the heads, TBs and stacks, so to do the job properly you would have to alter these by swapping to boring out your existing HTH Neven |

Scott-
I understand that it is not possible to interchange space cams between pumps for various displacements. What you need is a 2.2E space cam, which will fit in your 2.2T pump. It is not a function of the profile of the cam, but rather that there are physical differences in the way the cam fits on the pump. -Scott

The 2.4liter pumps have a wider space cam than the 2.0-2.2 and a small diameter ball follower, the 2.0-2.2 liter pumps use a roller follower on the cam. The governor flyweights are also different. If you need one I have a 2.4liter E space cam.

So, put the 2.4 space cam into a 2.4T pump and it would then be an E pump? How hard is it to change the flyweights? I was told by an experienced 911 guy that the 2.2 pumps were better for upgrades to RS specs which is what I want to do in the future and the 2.2 pump is in the garage.
This is kind of an interim step. Thanks for the input. I should probably just sell or trade the 2.2E pump for a 2.4E pump.

You need a 2.4liter pump to convert to 2.7liter RS specs the RS spec space cam is the wide type. If you want to convert to RSR or any other race spec you need the 2.0-2.2 pump all the race spec space cams are the narrow type. You cannot swap just the flyweights, the cam followers are different.
