Ross Pistons
Looking to do a 3.4 turbo coversion on my 3.2
Are they better Than JE's |
No. MM is the only place I know that sells them for Porsches. Do a search on Motor Meister. If they were any good, you would think reputable places would also sell them.

The reason is i can get them direct from them.
My tuner which is a dsm tuner swears by them and the hates je pistons. They have cars running 40-50 pounds of boost and spray on ross pistons Could it be that they are great pistons but MM is ruining ross piston name? |

Of course what I just said is all circumstantial evidence and you are right to investigate and determine for yourself. Maybe Porsche tuners follow the pack like sheep. Maybe they are unwilling to risk a motor on an unknown piston? Maybe they tried them 20 years ago and found them unsuitable but Ross has changed their "formula" since then? -Chris |
Dave Brown of Speedwerks uses both JE and Ross in his custom 911 engines. He prefers the Ross pistons, but only because of the better lead time on made-to-spec piston orders.

A lot of Nascar builders use Ross pistons and with good results.
I believe that MM being an exclusive distributor is a lot of BS. Im sure if you look around, there are nationally recoginzed builders and suppliers that can get them from Ross. You might try Ross's website. I have seen the catalog on the pistons for Porsche there. David Duffield |
Their website lists them for the "V6"................. those crazt webmasters!

I have a used set of Ross'es from a past MM rebuild. Only 750 miles on them. Any takers?

JE is a great piston...I have used them in more motors than I can count. Ross pistons are just as good. You have to remember that most piston blanks come from the same place. I can tell you that running 40-50 pounds has more to do with the tuner than the piston:) I dont care what kind of piston you have if you go lean the motor will start using the parts for fuel:) I have ran blowers, nitrous, and turbos with JE's never had an issue. Call JE direct and tell them what you want...they will have the best price unless you know a friend who can give you jobber etc
