Rebuilders near RI?
Anyone know of a place close to RI to finish a top end rebuild?
It's currently at a shop and it's going nowhere. been there since last june! I keep getting the run around on completion. "still waiting for the heads to come back". Was promised it would be done in two weeks. Where now on the second week and he just got back from Vegas. Nothings been done. Caught him this morning on the phone to ask about the progress on the motor, but he told me to call him back later.....So he can have his assitant answer the phone and tell me he's not there. I've delt with that many times before. This IS a F*%&'n bad nightmare that won't go away........ Mean while the car sits out in the winter weather. I'm ready to pull the car (flat bed) and gather up all the parts and go somewhere else. Any advise?? Help??? I'm screwed at this point. ![]() |

We can do it down here on Long Island. Dan Jacobs also comes to mind, he is located in CT

Man I can't thank you guys enough for the info.
I meeting with this guy on saturday to find out when he's gonna get this thing done. I'll give him a couple off weeks and the the flat bed is on it's way. Then I'll be making some calls. I'd do it myself but it's already apart so I'd be posting pictures every step of the way "were does this bolt go" "what's this thing fit". So I'm not ready for that nightmare. Thanks for all the help! |

I would be nice about it but tell him that you understand that he's a busy guy, pay him for what he's done so far, find the shop that has your heads, get them back (done or not) and take you car+motor to someplace else.

I wouldn't trust a shop that gives you the run around for months on a couple week project.
You would be better off aborting ASAP and for the benefit of other pelican members telling us the name of this shop. Last edited by 350HP930; 03-09-2005 at 05:04 PM.. |

Thanks to everyone for your help.
I talked to the shop ower last night and I'm yanking it outa there. I'm picking up the parts sunday ,but the weather might be a problem for getting the car(more freakin snow). I'll be taking it to Axel Conrad (thanks to a fellow pelican for his number). Seems like a very cool guy and knows how to do this right. I'll let you guys know were NOT to take your car as soon as I get it out of there. I must tread lightly untill the last bolt is found ![]() |
