2.8L on a 7R case questions
Has anyone built a 2.8 engine using the 10.5:1 JE pistons and rebored cylinders that EBS advertises?
I spoke to Jon over at EBS yesterday, these run $2045. His suggestion for building out my 7R case with these, GE 60 cams, twin plugging, port and polishing, and my 40 ida's...would yield roughly 250 hp for street use? Has anyone built this motor out and have any suggestions or confirmation of hp numbers? I am familiar with Grady's suggested use of 2.8 RSR p/c, but in searching old threads found no mention of how extensive the head work would be and besides that who could get it done? I am assuming if Jon's hp guesses are right this is far more economical? I am going to keep the Webers and hopefully use Aaron's (Burn-Bros)new rotor for twin plugging...this motor will be a street motor for a very accurate 914/6 GT being built.
