engine matters/ideas, benevolent son...

Today at work my boss/friend let me know when I am ready he has a 3.2 for me sans brain for a good price. Dad and I have been shooting ideas back and forth on what kind of motor to build for his car. He wants something that is strong, torquey and will crank over every morning with no complaint. He has told me when he gets a new motor I get to have his 3.0. So do I do the nice thing and build him a kickass motor off the 3.2 and take his 3.0 for myself or keep the 3.2 and talk him into a 3.6?

If he got the 3.2 I would drop in 98mm p and cs, twin plug, port match the heads to intake and exhaust and clean them up a bit, mod s cam, 964 dizzy with andial splitter and steve wong chip. The ssi's would stay as would the standard induction from a 3.2.

If I got the motor, 100mm p and c's about 11:1, twin plug, ported, polished heads with 1 7/8 custom headers with HE boxes, wild cams, itb's, 964 dizzy with steve wong chip.

Or I take his 3.0 and go 3.1/3/3 or 3.5, all with 100mm p and c's, 66mm crank, 70.4mm crank or 74mm crank. Once again the rest of the bunch would be like above or possibly electromotive twin plug coil packs.

So what does everyone think? MFI has been passed over in terms of adjustability and tuneability in the long wrong and a possible later configuration change. I might just be ranting because I have a couple engine ideas bouncing around in my head and wanted to let it out.

If you talk dear old Dad into a 3.6 you know he'll be happy.

If you talk your dad into the 3.6 you might be able to talk him into a 3.8 in a few years and then you can get the 3.6
