3.0 Performance Enhancement
Has anyone had direct experience with changing cams and exhaust on a 3.0 engine to increase horsepower? Any idea on actual results? What about power curve change? What about durability? Comments please!

hmmmm, my dad has a 78 3.0 motor in his 74. The motor has the "usual" updates/backdates" as you will. SSi heat exchangers, two in two out muffler, 20/21 cams, msd 6al box and coil, advanced timing slightly. The motor feels very good, strong all around but really comes on around 3500. Also helps to have a 74 tranny with the lower gear ratio and a 2200lb car.

Durability with either of the aforementioned cams shouldn't be an issue Tony...
FYI you can't use a cam any more aggressive than those two on a stock 3.0L because of valve clearance issues with the pistons. Anything else requires new pistons...
