CR on a 3.2 SS advice please
Well at long last I am starting my 3.2 SS motor.
I have a set of MM but have decided to sell these as I am running S cams and thus would have to machine the pistons for valve clearance. Anyway, I have spoke with a reputable supplier here in the UK about getting some J&Es. They are over boring some 95mm barrels for me and suggested I go for the 10.5:1 J&E pistons rather than the 9.5cr and that the 10.5 will be fine. We spoke at length and they have done tests before on 3.2 motors both with carbs and electronic ignition so I appreciate his advice. I just want to check if there are any other thoughts on going for the 10.5:1 versions on the following motor. Short Stroke 3.2 using 1978/9 911 SC motor with the larger ports. 46 PMOs Andial S grind cams Crank fire HPX ignition SSi heat exchangers and 3 outlet SS exhaust. The fuel here in the UK is 92 (I think) and is normally very good. Any thoughts before I buy them? I dont want to go twin plug just yet as the above costs enough on its own. Thanks in advance Alan |

If this is a street motor, then your 46s may be too big. If the compression is too high, you can always retard the timing, so I would go for it...

Thanks for the quick reply and the advice Wayne. I also did think the 46s may be a little too large but I discussed this motor with Richard at PMO and also described the intended use, and was advised that the 46s were the best option.
I hope this motor will be completed within the next month.. can't wait. Thanks Alan.UK
