Case-savers -Chicago

I have contacted 2 Porsche Independent service companies in the Chicago area and neither was evidently interested in R&R head studs and insert case inserts. I also checked with 2 "auto " machine shops and didn't want to touch. Does anyone know someone in Chicago area that would be willing to do it. Or do I have to pack it up and send them west. It is out, split and ready to go. It is a 77 2.7 no pulled or broken studs.

I've heard good things about Apex, I personally haven't used them.

I sent my entire engine to Ollie's, these guy's are fantastic. When I received my engine and parts back, I couldn't be more pleased with the worked they had preformed. Ollie’s is honest and reasonably priced. I would definitely used them again for any future rebuilds.

Apex knows what they're doing too. Local guy recently used them and has very good things to say about them. If Midwest Eurosport uses them, then Apex knows what they're doing.

Thanks for the response. I'll give Apex a try. As long as prices are line, it is less trouble and hopefully time. I'll post the results. Thanks again.

Give Bill at Apex a call.
He just did my heads, cylinders and cam towers did a great job and fair price. Turn around time was a little slow but he checks everything and only replaces what is necessary. Would use him again in the future.

I promised an update. Apex did my case-savers and did a fine job. A Little slow, about a month, but if I had to ship to AZ or CA, it would have taken as long. Charged just under $500. Did an extra big-sert on an old helicoil repair (not case studs) at no extra cost. It probably took longer, because of his commercial accounts and racing season. Now I just need to get everything back together.
