what should a Tensioner upgrade run $$

Less than a new engine, which you might end up buying if you don't.

Cheap mechanical tensioner solutions are couple hundred, the pressure fed upgrade is somewhere near 500, check Pelicans parts for exact numbers, plus installation. I would guess a mininum of an 8 hour job. So at two bucks an hour....

Actually if you arn't goingt to diy just call a couple of shops and ask what they would charge that is the only real accurate way. You should find the competent shops are all in the same ballpark. With Porsches you have to watch out for the shops, though competent, charge way to much. You can usually tell if you are checking to see if you still have your wallet on the way out.
