Question Checking cylinder bores????

Hi All,

I'm about 2 months into my 3.2 rebuild & have gotten to measuring the p&c's.Fully expect them to check out totally within specs.Everything else so far has been checking out "as new" in Wayne's book. This suprises me due to milelage,156K,as seems to be little wear on mains,rods,etc...But hey, thats ok with me.Anyway,my main ? is,the table in Wayne's book(THANKS WAYNE) pg.208-209 for cylinders, lists 4 standard sizes,Size 0 thru Size 3 for 3.2.I'm assuming the location of this marking is in the stamped # on side of barrel @ the bottom? In my case this # is 95ZN1++ W10.The two crosses after 1 are really over/under each other, cant (dont know how)write it that way.I assume the "1" after the "N" to be the size?Is this correct?I could take a pic and post if needed,to lazy right now to go find camera.
Could anyone clarify,Wayne maybe?,the notes about clearances regarding the p&c.If I'm reading correctly,up to .12mm is max. between p&c.Is the table listing 84-89 carrera 3.2 a misprint?It lists 3.0 pistons(nik&alu).Shouldn't that be 3.2?
Maybe this is known misprint I missed, not sure.
Anyone clarify this for me.I understand about checking the ovality of the cylinders & how much wear over new is ok (.08mm).

Thanks for replies in advance,I'm sure there are more ?? out there before it is over

Just a quick Thanks to Don Weaver @ EBS.He has been very helpful with seperating the "needs & wants for me.Very limited budget but want to do it right.

Chris

Which #'s?

Chris,

I have the specs posted on that page also.My ? concerns where that is on the cylinders. From the page you posted it shows Height group in the triangle on the right with the bore group to the left.On my cylinders, this is oposite.Triangle on left & "2"to the right.I thought these were printed when I first looked, but they do seem to actually be stamped. The pics show the 2,but the triangle doesn't show up(cheap camera). Is this the #'s this refers to?These are also perpendicular to the embossed #95zn1++ w10?
Spec seem to imply more info should be with the height group #?
Still not quite sure which one I'm looking for?

Chris, could you expound on how to read & compare to whats on the cylinders.Don't mean to sound stupid, but want to make sure I'm looking @ the right #'s.

Thanks,

Sorry about crappy pics
Chris
