Question last minute hook up questions on 3.2

Hello all,

a couple of hook up questions/checks before I take the engine off the stand.

on the right side of the engine bay theree is a valve of some sort mounted just above the oil tank, it has two small connections probably some sort of vacuum signals. One of these goes to the back of the throttle area and the othere goes to ? I can't find a hose or ? to hook it to. Also....since there are two of these which one goes to the back of the throttle body next to the "U" hose?

Question 2 - alternator hook up....there is a blue wire which hooks to the stud next to a small blue wire showing on the back of the alternator, the 2 brown wires go on anothere stud....I think I have these both documented correctly....the big red wire connection I don't have documented but I hooked them to the longer sticking out main stud. Is this correct? Sorry for no picture and a not so great description. I'm hoping someone has a picture they can send me back..

Thanks,

-Henry
current plan is to lift the engine in this Thursday.

Smile Alternator Pics

Henry,
Took these for the same purpose on my rebuild.

Hope it is what you need or will help.
Engine is 85 3.2

The two vacumm hoses,I think come from the back of the intake manifold@ the throttle body. One a breather, the other is the pcv valve that is @ oil tank. This has a short length of hose on either side that changes diameter. Not positive on this, but think it is correct

Chirs,
Thanks a ton....the alt. picture was exactly what I needed. I feel better now....I hooked it up as you have pictured....seems like no changes to the alt. from 85 to 89 mine looks much like yours.....I don't have the black plastic "grill" at the top....maybe someone left it off along the way or I forgot I took it off....which at this point I won't be surprised.

re. the hoses....I know one is hooked to the back of the TB....I see the hose that changes diameters....maybe the end is stuck down somewhere....I'll go check..

Thanks very much...

I'll keep you posted and probably post a few pictures soon, my engine looks nice with bead blasted AL and clear coating on fan/housing/etc.

Chris,
I went and looked at another fellows car that has the engine out...

The two hookups to the "valve" above the oil tank are:
1. goes to the back of the throttle body - very small hose- it falls off easily...I put RTV over it to hold it on and the one "U" hose very near it.
2. goes to the back of the throttle body - medium hose

The problem was when I initially looked/felt the two hookups I thought they were both for the same size very small hose size but they aren't.

I did take a look at the "changes size" hose and it goes from somewhere buried down in the chassis on the left to through the fender on the right near the oil tank...I don't know what it does.

Thanks for the assist.

-Henry

So all is good.

-Henry
