broken oil control ring

Just wanted to get some advice from the professionals out there. I am repairing a broken head stud on a 3 litre SC. I was cleaning parts to get ready for reassambly and found a broken oil control ring on one cylinder. The cylinders are alusil, and I was not planning on re-ringing. Should I just replace the one oil control ring???? ANy help would be appreciated
Thanks

The first thing you need to do is determine WHY that ring broke. You need to measure the lands and make sure that are within spec.

Measure Pistons and cylinders and make sure those dimensions are within spec.

Check the surface of the cylinders - a dull grey finish with no shiny spots and as smooth as glass.

Afterwards, just get a new set of rings and re-ring them (all 6).

Yes, you can re-ring alusils provided that all of the measurements are within spec.
