2.4t MFI to 2.7 Big Bore?'s
 

I want what everybody whats more HP,

But I really like the way the MFI runs,

SO I was thinking of a Big Bore kit

I found one from Mototr Mister

911 2.4 1972-1973 to
2.7 Big Bore $1995.00

1. Has anyone do this before, is so what was done?
2. Is this kit something that he ships to you and you install?
3. Are there other kits like it out there?

4. What does the kit include , or do for the engine?


I don't think I have (or what )to use Motor Mister, I just what to get more displacement, If there are any other kits, or just list what I need to make it larger.

I what low end and speed, but I think I will be doing over 130 very often....or will I ?

Motor Meister? That wonderfull shop with good reputation? :D :D

P.S. How do you plan to modify MFI so it injects more fuel to offset greater volume?

I am not sure how yet, maybe look for "S" MFI

Derek, seriously stay away from Motor Meister.

S MFI and 2.7 RS MFI would be the same thing so that would work. Your case will have to be machined for th 90mm pistons if you want to go to a 2.7.

This is a very nice upgrade. It's been done before on this forum. Lots of options as far as cams, ports and pistons. You need 2.7 Carrera RS pistons (or custom such as JE) if you want to stick to any of the 2.4 litre cams. The case needs to have the spigots enlarged for the bigger cylinders. Also need timecerts and in my opinion Dilavar studs. Lots of info on this in the forum and in Bruce Anderson's 911 performance handbook.

If you can find a set of 2.7 Carrera RS pistons and cylinders you can use all your old heads, cams, ports, etc. This would be a minimal expense method and you'd have a torque monster but not much power above 6200 RPM.

What is JE?

Yes you have to have the case machined for 90mm cylinders and have the timecerts/casesavers installed (Dilivar Studs also in my opinion, others disagree). JE is a brand of pistons. Engine Builders Supply sells them. Look in some magazines and books to find machine shops and parts retailers. Call them with questions on prices and turn around times.

I recommend Ted Robinson of German Precision for machine work and EBS (Engine Builders Supply) as well as Pelican for parts.
