Engine Question: 2.4 S
Gents,
Need to know the price range for a real 911, 2.4 S engine. Code 911/53 # 633XXXX Rebuilt in germany and has 15,000 Kms. Comes with tuned 40 Webers, heaters and muffler, just about everything to start-up and run with a 915 trans. I have a chance to buy one here in Germany, and not spend the $$$ to rebuild mine that is in storage in the USA...which I'll sell at a later date to a pelican member ![]() Vr, Bavaria911

8-9 K in Euros is about 11K dollars.
If that is the going rate for a 2.4S in the States, I'll pass on this one for sale and just rebuild mine in the future -- for what I was told will cost about 6 K in dollars. Thanks, Bavaria

Sorry to dig up an old(er) post, but are we talking about fully rebuild engines or just a regular running 2.4S?
$11.000 seems kinda high.... I think if you collect all the pieces separately you don't even pay $11.000 to get a real 2.4s Any thoughts? |

Hey Ttweed,
What would be the value of a 'core' 2.4S engine with the original MFI in place? I bought one and wanted to know if I paid to much.... I'm planning on trying it out 'as is' and if it turns out that it needs a rebuilt I will just do that or part it out... |

$8K for a solid runner and $11K for a freshly rebuilt 'S' motor is about right, as long as it is complete with MFI. Without MFI, the engine is worth several thousand $$$ less.

ok,
So I know I got a bargain at 3800 dollar... The heatexchangers are missing but otherwise it's complete. I'll have to check compression and leakdown ofcourse, but I guess, worst-case-scenario, if I have to part it out, I'll get my money back, easy. |
