Engine to Transmission Hook Up

Not strictly Engine rebuild but related - sort of...

After replacing the head studs on my 78SC I bolted the transmission up to the engine and reinstalled the unit to find that I have no clutch clearance. No matter how I adjust the cable there is no movement on the fork shaft. Could I have positioned the fork incorrectly and fitted the splined arm in the wrong position? The setup looks just like the pictures in Wayne's book but the spring helper arm is not splined and I fear that somehow I got the fork out 180 degrees - i.e. when could the fork be moving back against the transmission?. Can anyone chime in here and suggest any reason why I have no clutch movement?
Thanks,
Kevin

sounds like you have the fork out of position. It is either totally behind the TO bearing, or it is 180 deg off.
