46mm Weber vs PMO dilemma
I'm trying to decide whether to put my vintage 46mm Webers on a 3.2 engine (with 10.5-1 J&E pistons and performance cams) I just bought which already has new 46mm PMOs (with 38mm venturis). Car is used just for track days.
1. Is the technology that much better in the PMOs? 2. What's the going price for used 46mm webers? Thanks |
PMO's are SOOOOOO much better in every way. :)
Sell those Weber's to a Vintage racer who needs them for those venues. |
Any idea what the going price range is?

I second Steve's post. PMO's are the only way to go. They were out of 46mm's a couple months ago. Maybe Steve has a set for you.

Use the PMOs Yes the technology is slightly better but more importantly the PMOs flow more air which makes them better suited for larger engines. If your engine won't flow the air PMOs are no better than Webers, except they are new and with carburetors new is good. As for the going rate: I would think that $1500 for a good set of 46 Webers is a fair price. Good luck |
Steve's Reply was in accordance with reading the post. Chad must of overlooked the part that said he already had the PMO's. :confused:No big deal.
So you may not have been the only one to read the post, just the only one who said they could read.:D |

PMOs. You can probably get $2K for the 46mm Webers if you sell them to the right buyer. $1500 on a quick sale, as Henry said...

I would be interested in the 46mm Webers. Send a PM. Thanks, --mike.

Am building a 911ST motor for my FIA car (66mm stroke 2.5 litre): to keep to our race series rules I need Webers & can't use PMO's (shame, I hear they are much better!)
Am interested in yr 46's & will buy if they are in good order - can you send a pic? I think $2k is right if they are ready to use... Please email with pic if they are available. regards from England ..... |
