Hi,
Has any one used Paul Weir in Washington to rebuild or modify their Porsche engines. Paul had a large shop in 1999 and was building about 200 engines a year until the dot com bubble burst. He had customers sending him engines in from all over the country. I think he is starting over again. He is a Porsche engine rebuilding expert and also does his own machine work. Now that he is back in business I was just wondering if any one has ever used him. He seems to have a good reputation in the Porsche market space! He certainly knows how to trick out a Porsche engine. Thanks, don888 |

A search will pull up a few differring opinions on him..........
I think some former employees post here as well. I only ever bought a turbo cooling pump for a 944t from them years ago and that transaction went fine... Cheers

Yes, and I have been talking to him recently and I am considering spending some serious coin with him on parts. Just looking for recent dealings with Pelicanites. I know about the past issues some have remarked about having with his shop when I think he was going thru some tough times.

I used Paul's shop a few times back when he was in Seattle and I had a 944 turbo. A month or so before the shop closed I had the oil pressure relief valve shed its O ring. I had the same problem previously, about 9 months before, and his shop had fixed it.
I brought it back and they fixed it again. As I was preparing to pay the bill I explained that they had fixed the same problem 9 months before and asked if he would gaurantee the repair this time. He said yes... and he waived the charge for what they had just fixed. Shortly there after he went out of business... I don't know why, but he treated me fairly. Personaly I am happy to see him back in business and wish him the best of luck.
