The infamous "20 gram too heavy rods"

I'd like my fellow Pelicans to know that after a lengthy discussion about whether or not 20 grams was too much to remove from a rod to balance it with its mates, (see Matching rod weights) I followed Henry Schmidt's advise and sent my whole set off to Supertec for matching. Henry's shop sent me back a beautiful set of resized, rebushed, and balanced rods in just a matter of days - South Carolina to California and back.

Being a little anal, I weighed them just for peace of mind - end to end and total - and on my scale they were all exactly the same weight.

I want to thank those of you who joined the debate and provided me with information and especially Henry for solving my problem.

Now I can proceed with my engine rebuild.
