3.2 rod bearing failure and external oil cooler
I spun the number 6 rod bearing in my 3.2 F stock race car. It was probably the rod bolt loosening. The main bearings were fine. The oil filter had lots of copper colored glitter. How much do I need to clean the oil lines and front oil cooler for my new engine.
Thanks Bryan |

Sorry to hear that. You have to clean everything that oil came in contact with. Including the oil cooler (using and oil cooler cleaning service like Pacific Oil Cooler), oil lines, thermostat, oil galleries in the motor, etc.

Ultrasonic cleaning at the minimum, most prefer to just replace the oil coolers. Everything should be completely torn down and cleaned thoroughly. This is not a job for the weak hearted and it will be costly.
Good luck and I'm sorry to hear that. Alex
