Supertec injection in Barret Jackson 917

While thumbing through the Barret Jackson catalogue I noticed a familiar looking injection.
Custom built by Supertec Performance for Bill Freeman and his 917 retro car.
The engine was built by the legendary Bill Smith.

I thought those looked familiar! I love those stacks on MFI throttle bodies - way more purposeful than the standard stacks. The plastic lines are pretty sweet as well.

Is that a cold start mechanism up high on the red stacks?

Yes, we put a small injector in each stack. This system was built before we had our cable operated enrichment device.

BTW: 1970 PORSCHE 917K REMANUFACTURED COUPE Sold for $178,200.00 no reserve auction.

You know, one of my first and favorite cars was a 917.

Of course I was like 8yrs old at the time and mine was manufactured by Tyco. But boy it handled like a slot car....pretty much because it was...a slot car

I mirror the other sentiments in that that car brings forth certain....ummmmmm, emotions
