magnesium valve cover treatment
Like most old magnesium valve covers, mine have some pretty severe paint chipping and a little oxidation/corrosion. They did not leak, however, and I'd like to keep using them as long as they don't.
What I am concerned with, however, is the paint and some of the oxidized magnesium chipping off and contaminating the oil in my engine. Has anyone ever bead-blasted and then coated them with something? Would a good powder-coat do the trick, or is that not hot-oil resistant? I have access to a bead blaster - just wondering if there's something I can put on afterwards besides paint that would stand up a little better to the abuse... Or will a high-temp paint out of a spray can do the trick? -Chance

Chance-
Mine looked really bad. I powder coated them wrinkle finish black, and they look great. -Scott
