90mm Euro P&Cs = 90mm RS P&Cs?
Quick question:
I've heard a few different descriptions and they all seem to describe the same item. Are 90mm Euro, Euro S, and RS P&Cs all the same item? ie 8.5:1 compression flt top pistons w/ Mahle nikasil cylinders? Thanks, Andrew M

Andrew:
Differing nomenclatures makes discussions of such subjects truly confusing,.... ![]() Perhaps I can help clarify things. There are now 3 different Mahle 90mm P/C sets: 1) 90mm CIS P/C's; 8.5:1. These are Nikasil cylinders with cast pistons and CIS optimized domes. 2) 90mm RS P/C's; 8.5:1. These are Nikasil cylinders with forged pistons and double valve relief domes made to clear "S" cams. 3) 90mm RSR P/C's; 10.3:1. These are Nikasil cylinders with forged pistons, double valve relief domes, and were originally made for SCCA/IMSA racing. These are now quite rare. References to "Euro" & "Euro S" in describing these parts are difficult to clarify since the language used to describe these components becomes obfuscated. ![]()

Thaks Steve - Euro and Euro S is what had me all confused - I've always refered to them as RS and someone was asking me for 'Euro S' versions. For the 8.5:1 versions, I guess it all comes down to CIS dome or not.
Regards, Andrew M
