3.2 Installation Rev Count Q's

I have just been testing my wiring from the installation of a 3.2 engine into my 72 911 befroe I get ready to fire her up for the first time. The good news is I get output to my fuelpump and a spark when I turn the engien over however I dont seem to be registering anything on the rev count. Does the revcount work on the 3.2's when the engine is only turning over or does it need the engine to be running or at higher RPM before the ECU will give an output?

Mine starts to jiggle after about a 2 seconds of cranking.
If it doesnt jiggle the car will not start and I have to put my hand under the seat and rattle the DME relay around to get it to fire!
